This painting depicts the seasons of Winter and Spring at Madrona Marsh Nature Preserve in Torrance, CA. With much rain in early 2019, the marsh was covered by shallow pools and ponds throughout. I came upon this seen one day… a single mallard duck navigating the newly-formed waterways. I was reminded of many winters when I had biked as a youngster from home nearby, excited to explore the always-changing nature of the fields and wetlands in old Torrance.
This artwork is FRAMED in a gold metal-leaf frame, handmade for me by Glaser Frames in Colorado.
